Ciao a tutti.
Sono appena riuscito ad installare un controller RAID su un PC PIII con Windows 98 utilizzando 2 HD da 40 GB identici. Il controller è stato configurato in modalità 1-Mirror e funziona perfettamente, infatti ho verificato che il secondo HD rispecchia perfettamente tutti gli aggiornamenti effettuati sul primo.
La mia domanda è se esiste qualche metodo per simulare un guasto dell'HD principale in modo da verificare che entri in funzione l'HD secondario e testare quindi la funzionalità del RAID stesso.

Naturalmente avevo già fatto questa prova, ma con un HD scollegato il bios del controller non mi fà partire il boot in quanto mi segnala l'errore di configurazione hardware non valida.

forse dal bios della mobo, il controller lo devi settare come modalità IDE e non RAID
 
Un controller come si deve ti segnala la disfunzione ... ti avverte che un disco non funziona e di provvedere a sostituire l' HD guasto e ti permette di avviare comunque con un solo disco ... altrimenti non avrebbe senso un RAID 1 ... :nunu: :nunu: :nunu:
 
Ragazzi, non sò che dire. Spero che non abbia acquistato un controller fasullo... La scheda è un ITE RaidExpress 133 e di seguito vi mostro le caratteristiche dal manuale.
Purtroppo non avendo esperienza vorrei un vostro aiutino.
