Problema installazione driver Nvidia

ciao a tutti
il mio problema ora è questo: non riesco a mettere la stessa risoluzione che ho in ambiente Windows XP (ho una risoluzione 1360x768(avendo uno schermo wide)).
Come faccio ad impostarla se sulle impostazioni dello schermo non me la da?

io x settare la risoluzione del monitor ho semplicemente editato il file xorg.conf, ho messo io manualmente la risoluzione del mio monitor

scusa ma che cosa hai aggiunto e dove nel tuo file xorg.conf?
cmq ho provato a fare come diceva AMD64 ma niente..la risoluzione 1360x768 non è tra quelle settabili.
Sembra che le risoluzioni wide non siano contemplate.
Come posso fare?

dacci il tuo xorg.conf, è piu' facile aiutarti con quello sotto mano.

intanto che ci sei prendi tutti i dati del tuo monitor e dacci anche quelli

questo è il mio file xorg.conf

Il mio monitor invece è un samsung LE23R7 e la modalità di visualizzazione con risoluzione 1360x768 sono:
Freq.Orizzontale (kHz) 47,712
Freq Verticale (Hz) 60,015
Freq del clock del pixel (Mhz) 85,800
Polarità sync (H/V) +/+

se serve qualcos'altro o per altre risoluzioni nn esitare a chiedere.:ok:

ti conviene generare la giusta riga ModeLine da utilizzare poi per aggiungere i dati sulla risoluzione da te voluta:
- http://zaph.com/Modeline/
- http://xtiming.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/xtiming.pl
- http://amlc.berlios.de/
- http://www.google.it/search?hl=it&q=modeline+calculator&btnG=Cerca+con+Google&meta=

una volta creata potrai inserirla nel file di configurazione, modificare quest'ultimo, riavviare Xorg ed essere "felice del risultato".

ora finalmente sono riuscito ad impostare la risoluzione giusta il problema ora è un altro.

Infatti ora come nell'immagine ho 2 schermi e 2 schede video..
Come faccio ad eliminare i primi 2?
Secondo problema..Ora che ho messo a posto la risoluzione la schermata di login(dove si inseriscono user e pass) ha di nuovo i caratteri microscopici.
Come posso fare?aiutatemi please...
