Today I have to study a lot for my next exam, and I am really tired... but this period will end at last! :coffee:
Yesterday I finished the index of the thesis... I hope it will work... :(
 
Last Saturday I had an english test for university, it's called "TOEFL" which stands for Test Of English as Foreing Language... It was 4 hours long with only a 10 minutes long break after 2 hours. I made a good work with listening and reading section, but with speaking I was in trouble.
Last section was writing and I think I made a good work.
The funny thing was that this test is an internet-based test, so answers were given in a form in Internet Explorer 6 on windows XP.
The girl who stands aside me was starting writing section and IE crashed :asd:, so she was very upset :D
Fortunatly, they were able to rescue everything, if not she was going to kill everyone in the testroom :D

Hi Elfo! I've never hear about this test TOEFL... What is the difference respect to PET (Preliminary English Test)?
Eheheheh… Poor IE6! Why don’t you suggest the professors to use another browser? The net is full of them, better than that crap program by Bill. :D

TOEFL is only a way to steal money... In my university you must acquire a certification for a foreign language (only european languages).
For english you must pass TOEFL, which is composed by 4 main parts:
1- Reading: You must read a short passage and then answer a couple of questions about it...
2- Listening: You must listen a answer question about a university lesson on a topic (in my case was archeology and botanic :doh: )
3- Speaking: You ear a reading and a passage, and tipically you must expose what is your opinion on it.
4- Writing: 2 short writing on a given topic...

I don't know how is PET structured but... Anyway, This test worth 150 euro and gives only 2,5 credits... I think that University MUST provide this test, not only addressing students to external (private) society... I mean, if i cannot get graduated without this test... Why isn't it gratis? Why must I pay for it? :boh:

my 2 cents:
150 euros x 5000 students = 750000 euros/year to a private society

the only way to improve english is: talking talking talking...

in 3 months in london i have learned more then 10 years at school...studying useless stuff and reading stupid texts...

do u want to improve ur english? in all italian cities there are americans "mormoni" missionaries...go there, (IT's FREE), and u can talk one or two hours and u will improve...not necessary u will talk about religion, u can talk about everything..
but PLEASE don't waste ur money paying a stupid course

or just have a chat with english speakers, or visit english websites...
