Windows 7 DVD Maker is free, that's a good thing, but it can not support MTS, M2TS, TS, HD MKV, HD WMV, and HD MOV and other formats, that's a bad one, and it can not edit videos either! in that way, i am thinking of buying a professional dvd creator to meet my need?
any suggestino? or which one you are using?

You can give a try to Pinnacle Studio, but I think it won't handle mkv as well (I'm not sure it supports hd mov too)
Almost none of the largely diffused pro converting software are supporting the mkv container, since it's more community made and supported, they use proprietary containers and codecs (i know super can output mkv files, but it's only a very complete converter not an edit software)

Please also take into account that free win7 dvd maker is not aimed to the pros, it gives just the basic features an occasional users needs

ps: maybe you should try on tomshw.us too, it will be more likely to get an answer there to an english question ;)

Yes, windows 7 dvd maker can only support WMV, ASF, MPG which which only comes from Microsoft itself, it can not support mkv. enn, i want to burn mkv movies to dvd, since that, maybe i will still use Aimersoft DVD Creator to manage that in XP.

Windows DVD Maker does support other formats if you install some codec pack such as "Vista Codecs" by Shark.
The same happens in Live Movie Maker.
I think that DVD Maker is a great feature of Windows for home/personal purposes.
I tried other non-system software but they seem to me quite crappy.
