ciao a tutti!
ho letto da poo dell'esistenza di un nuovo servizio(ancora beta)da parte di google: M-Lab (http://www.measurementlab.net/)
ho provato a fare i primi 3 test presenti.
i primi 2 sono andati bene mentre il 3°test,"Network patch and..." è risultato scandende:
Test conditions
Tester: 64.9.225.151 (64.9.225.151) [?]
Target: host51-189-dynamic.60-82-r.retail.telecomitalia.it (82.60.189.51) [?]
Logfile base name: host51-189-dynamic.60-82-r.retail.telecomitalia.it:2009-05-03-14:28:37 [?]
This report is based on a 10 Mb/s target application data rate [?]
This report is based on a 8001 ms Round-Trip-Time (RTT) to the target application [?]
The Round Trip Time for this path section is 220.000000 ms.
The Maximum Segment Size for this path section is 1440 Bytes. [?]
Target host TCP configuration test: Fail! [?]
Warning: TCP connection is not using RFC1323 timestamps. [?]
Critical Failure: Did not negotiate window scale, it should be 9. [?]
Diagnosis: The target (client) is not properly configured. [?]
> See TCP tuning instructions at Enabling High Performance Data Transfers [PSC] [?]
Path measurements [?]
The path to the tester is too long for accurate measurements.
> Test a shorter path section or reduce the target data rate and/or RTT. [?]
Data rate test: Fail! [?]
The maximum data rate was 2.382263 Mb/s. [?]
This is below the target rate (10.000000 Mb/s). [?]
This test did not complete due to other problems with the path, target or tester.
> Correct other problems first, and then rerun this test. [?]
Loss rate test: Fail! [?]
Fail: loss event rate: 0.020434% (4893 packets between loss events). [?]
Diagnosis: there is too much background (non-congested) packet loss. [?]
The events averaged 3.000000 losses each, for a total loss rate of 0.061303%. [?]
FYI: To get 10 Mb/s with a 1440 byte MSS on a 8001 ms path the total end-to-end loss budget is 0.000001% (98443603 packets between losses). [?]
> Locate the excess packet loss in this section of the path. [?]
Suggestions for alternate tests
FYI: This path may pass with a less strenuous application: [?]
Try rate=2 Mb/s, rtt=236 ms
Or if you can raise the MTU: [?]
Try rate=2 Mb/s, rtt=1479 ms, mtu=9000 bytes
Network buffering test: Warning! [?]
This test did not complete due to other problems with the path, target or tester.
> Correct other problems first, and then rerun this test. [?]
Estimated queue size is at least: Pkts: 0 Bytes: 0
This is probably an underestimate of the actual queue size. [?]
This corresponds to a 13.109260 ms drain time. [?]
To get 10 Mb/s with on a 8001 ms path, you need 10001250 bytes of buffer space. [?]
> Localize all path problems by testing progressively smaller sections of the full path. [?]
Tester validation: Pass! [?]
No internal tester problems were detected.
Tester version: $Id: pathdiag.py,v 1.46 2009/02/06 00:07:04 mathis Exp $

qualcuno può per favore spiegarmi cosa vogliono dire tutti questi Fail???in che cosa la mia connessione nn va bene?e come posso migliorarla?
grazie e un saluto a tutti!ciao :)
