Vi scrivo per sapere se può convenirmi fare l'upgrade di internet da 8 mb a 20 mb su linea Infostrada (uso internet prevalentemente per navigare e guardare video streaming, ma saltuariamente anche per scaricare).

Non sono per nulla esperto sull'argomento, pertanto mi affido alla vostra esperienza e al vostro aiuto!

Da quanto vedo sei già agganciato in ADSL2+... stando in base al tuo SNR, 20 mega pieni non li vedrai mai (e forse difficilmente anche 10).
Sono rimasto un po' allibito dall'attenuazione in downstream, solitamente è sempre maggiore rispetto all'upstream, tanto che i valori sembrano invertiti.
Hai già controllato la disponibilità di copertura a 20 mega nella tua zona?
 
Si, la copertura per adsl 20 mega c'è.
Ti posto anche i dati dello speed test appena effettuato (a volte raggiungo anche i 6,5 mbps in download).
Dimmi un pò che ne pensi.

con quel router non andrai molto lontano con la 20 mb... al massimo prenderai 11/12 mb...
però abiti dentro la centrale telecom? :D 1.5db di attenuazione... :D
 
In ogni caso, come ti ho detto sopra, stando in base al tuo SNR in downstream attuale difficilmente arriverai oltre i 10 mega (tenendo come riferimento un margine di 12 dB in downstream).
Rimane il fatto che 1.5 dB di attenuazione in downstream mi pare veramente strano... magari attendiamo un secondo parere da qualcun altro :D

Ti consiglierei di provare a prendere un router di qualche tuo amico/conoscente ed effettuare una prova prima di procedere all'acquisto di un nuovo router... non si sa mai :vv:
