Ciao a tutti, mi rivolgo a voi perchè ormai non ne vado + fuori...
Ho tentato per ora ad installare i driver ati 8.40 dal sito dell'amd...e alla fine ce l'ho fatta...sapete non è come da repository, ma volevo gli ultimi driver. Li ho correttamente configurati e sono correttamente conosciuti:

OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: Radeon X1900 Series
OpenGL version string: 2.0.6747 (8.40.4)
Ora...non vorrei accontentarmi di usare compiz e attivarlo dal menù degli effetti desktop. Il mio obbiettivo è usare compiz-fusion come da titolo.
Premetto che ho avuto un po' di difficoltà dato che i pacchetti di fusion non sono solitamente per la mia architettura.
Adesso seguendo questa guida http://pollycoke.wordpress.com/2007/06/23/ubuntu-feisty-compiz-fusion/
e modificandola un po' per utilizzare i pacchetti per ubuntu 64:

Alla fine dando il comando compiz --replace -v & mi da il seguente errore:

Scusatemi per la lunghezza del post...in ogni caso io ho installato xgl e non vedo perchè non debba andare...
