GeForce GTX 650 vs Radeon HD 7770
Intro
The GeForce GTX 650 comes with a clock speed of 1058 MHz and a GDDR5 memory speed of 1250 MHz. It also features a 128-bit memory bus, and uses a 28 nm design. It is comprised of 384 SPUs, 32 TAUs, and 16 ROPs. Compare all that to the Radeon HD 7770, which comes with core speeds of 1000 MHz on the GPU, and 1125 MHz on the 1024 MB of GDDR5 RAM. It features 640 SPUs as well as 40 Texture Address Units and 16 Rasterization Operator Units.
(No game benchmarks for this combination yet.)
Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks
Power Consumption (Max TDP)
Memory Bandwidth
Theoretically speaking, the GeForce GTX 650 will be 11% faster than the Radeon HD 7770 overall, due to its greater data rate. (explain)
Texel Rate
The Radeon HD 7770 will be just a bit (about 18%) faster with regards to texture filtering than the GeForce GTX 650. (explain)
Pixel Rate
The GeForce GTX 650 will be a small bit (approximately 6%) faster with regards to full screen anti-aliasing than the Radeon HD 7770, and should be able to handle higher screen resolutions while still performing well. (explain)
Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.
