Ho aggiornato a Mint 18.2 x64 cinnamon kernel 4.4.0-92 il mio portatile HP Compaq 6710b, il monitor del pc si spegne autonomamente dopo alcuni minuti di utilizzo (mai lo stesso tempo). Collegando un monitor esterno e dichiarandolo primario, il problema non si verifica e, prima dell'avvio del SO il monitor interno si comporta regolarmente fino a quando cede il comando al video esterno ma, da solo no funziona.

Cinnamon freezes when changing resolution (Intel GPU)
If your Intel GPU is recent enough (2007 or newer) it is recommended to remove the legacy Intel driver "xserver-xorg-video-intel" and to use the built-in modesetting driver instead:
"apt remove xserver-xorg-video-intel"
"sudo reboot"
Not only will the modesetting fix the freeze issue when changing resolutions, it should also work better with Cinnamon and produce better performance.
The legacy driver is no longer maintained and only useful for the old i800x and i900x family of chipsets.
Da tutte questi tentativi ne deduco che il problema è quasi sicuramente software ma, non saprei dove mettere le mani. Qualcuno mi ha consigliato di cambiare l'inverter e la lampada, credo però che l'hardware sia incolpevole.
Qualcuno può darmi qualche altro consiglio?
