Nvidia plans DirectX 10 cards for AGP slot
NVIDIA'S GEFORCE 7600 GS, its AGP card, will get a new follower, cleverly codenamed G84 AGP. This card will be a Direct X 10 chip aimed at AGP upgrade market, as you have not been able to buy new AGP systems for a while now.
It is an interesting choice as but shows the value of this legacy market. The card is scheduled for April and this means that AGP upgrade market will get a DirectX 10 after all.
Early Vista adopters have to be thrilled about it as it will give them a chance to keep their bellowed Nforce 2 motherboards and Athlon XP CPUs or simply good old Netburst Pentium 4 marchitecture.
The G84 is set to replace Geforce 7600 GS cards and these cards sell for around €100, which is not bad deal for an AGP card.
The AGP version is possible due to the fact that G84 chips are pin-to-pin compatible with Geforce 6600 and 7600, so there were no modifications required in order that AGP market gets its DirectX 10 card

cmq sarà sicuro l'unica scheda dx10! come potete vedere si tratta di una scheda come lascia intendere l'articolo...che serve giusto per windows vista...visto che lui ha le dx10 è brutto far affiancare una 7600gs sopra un pc..visto che questa e dx9! certo una 7600gs compatib. dx10 non serve a nulla....infatti come scheda questa è "inutile"!
cmq non vedremo altre....infatti non hanno neppure cercato di fare la GT per agp..ma direttamente la gs visto che non deve servire a giocare ma a far finta di servire con vista!

Pare che la NVIDIA 7600 GS avrà un suo successore, una scheda chiamata G84 AGP.
Sarà una scheda con supporto DirectX 10, così chi vorrà ancora mantenere il vecchio standard avrà qualcosa di aggiornato disponibile sul mercato (ma quanti saranno?).
L' uscita pare sia prevista per aprile (prima dell' uscita dell' R600 di ATI, che è stata posticipata).
I possessori di Athlon XP e Pentium 4 Netburst potranno godersi così ancora per un pò i loro usati gioiellini, nonchè i nuovi titoli dei giochi in uscita quest' anno, anche se verosimilmente al minimo della risoluzione e dei dettagli...
La G84 rimpiazzerà la 7600GS e verrà venduta ad un prezzo intorno ai 100 euro, che non sembra male per una scheda
DirectX 10, seppur AGP.
La realizzazione è stata possibile perchè il G84 è compatibile pin-a-pin con le GeForce 6600 e 7600, e quindi non ha richiesto modifiche al restante hardware della scheda per poter calare dentro il supporto AGP
