DCS: Black Shark - A-10C Warthog

"DCS: Black Shark" is a PC game of the Russian Ka-50 attack helicopter and is the first title in a new Eagle Dynamics and The Fighter Collection simulation series: "Digital Combat Simulator" (DCS). Following Eagle Dynamics' tradition of excellence, "DCS: Black Shark" will bring an even more realistic simulation experience than its predecessor "Flaming Cliffs". "DCS: Black Shark" will offer an unprecedented level of realism in regards to flight dynamics, instruments modeling, avionics systems, and weapon systems. The artificial Intelligence of ground vehicles and helicopters has been improved dramatically as well as weapon modeling. A new Mission Editor includes a powerful electronic mapping system that allows user to easily create missions and campaigns. A new campaign system allows the front line of the battlefield to move back and fourth according to your mission success or failure. Due to the increased flexibility of the DCS system, additional fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter add-ons will follow shortly.

A seguito delle recenti anticipazioni, è arrivata la conferma ufficiale sul rilascio di DCS Series: Black Shark da parte di Matt "Wags" Wagner, leader Eagle Dynamics

Wags, in un topic sul forum ufficiale, precisa i termini di rilascio del software. Apprendiamo dunque, oltre le features definitive del simulatore ed i requisiti minimi e consigliati, che la versione per il mercato occidentale sarà disponibile fra circa 90 giorni (versione retail ed online) a causa del lavoro ancora da completare per le diverse localizzazioni (inglese, francese, tedesca, spagnola) e vicende burocratico/legali da risolvere.

E' confermata la data del 17/10/08 per il mercato russo (retail ed online) : nel periodo che intercorre tra la pubblicazione della versione russa e occidentale la Eagle Dynamics rilascerà come contenuti gratuiti il Manuale utente per DCS, il Manuale di volo del KA-50 e, probabilmente, una Demo localizzata in inglese.

Infine è altresì ufficiale l'adozione del sistema anti-pirateria Starforce, che richiederà un check settimanale del disco (per la versione online, ai fini dell'attivazione, sarà richiesto un accesso internet e si avranno a disposizione 10 attivazioni).

In data odierna è stata ufficialmente rilasciata la versione localizzata in lingua inglese di DCS Series: Black Shark, simulatore di volo sviluppato da Eagle Dynamics.

Nello specifico si tratta della versione elettronica, completa di manualistica e con una serie di missioni aggiuntive rispetto a quella russa; la versione retail sarà disponibile entro il primo quarto del 2009.

In occasione delle feste natalizie la Eagle Dynamics ha pubblicato, sul forum ufficiale, alcuni work in progress del prossimo modulo in sviluppo: DCS: A-10C Warthog.

Le immagini mostrano alcune prospettive del modello esterno e del cockpit dell'A-10C.

Di fatto, da ora in avanti, l'attenzione degli appassionati sarà focalizzata sul prossimo Add-On che introdurrà il primo velivolo ad ala fissa del brand DCS Series.

Some WIP sneak peaks from ED

Developing the ground detail:

...The shots were posted by SuperVasya (ED 3D artist) on the Russian forum. They are not technically official, but just a preview of one of the graphical improvements to the engine ED is working on. This is planned for the A-10. All is work in progress and subject to change.

To clarify, these are early work in progress shots and have not been tuned. We sometimes like to give you all an early look at things in development. We hope that including this increased ground detail will give a better sense of altitude when operating at very low levels.

A pochi giorni dalla pubblicazione della versione finale di DCS: A-10C Warthog, la Eagle Dynamics ha rilasciato la Patch 1.1.0.6, destinata a risolvere una serie di bugs minori.

Il rilascio della nuova Patch rientra in una rinnovata logica di sviluppo che vedrà la diffusione dei nuovi update in maniera più frequente rispetto al passato e concentrati su specifici problemi.

La Patch 1.1.0.6 pesa circa 713MB: per una corretta installazione i due files (setup-1.bin e setup.exe) vanno accorpati in una singola cartella; consigliata l'esclusione di eventuali antivirus o software di sicurezza simili ed il riavvio del sistema.
