Un MacBook del 2008 con Snow Leopard è a rischio d'incontrare software o aggiornamenti che possono metterlo in crisi. Però i Kernel Panic sono fatti più hardware che software e quindi se tu avessi cambiato di recente i banchi di RAM o l'HD quelle sarebbero le operazioni da indagare. Molto spesso i banchi RAM mal inseriti (o sporcati anche solo con le impronte digitali che sono "grasse") sono responsabili di blocchi e riavvii frequenti ed imprevedibili.

Se non ci fossero ragioni del genere prova ad effettuare un AHT Utilizzo di Apple Hardware Test (AHT). Servono i DVD originali.
Non so perché ma sembra che nell'articolo, seppure aggiornato al 25-giu-2013, non venga citata la versione 10.6.8. Immagino quindi che si possa ritenere l'indicazione 10.6.7 come valida anche per la successiva che, ricordo, introduceva App Store e poco altro.

Per soprammercato fai anche un reset dell'SMC ed uno della NVRAM:

Al massimo avrai alcuni settaggi e preferenze da reimpostare.

Se mai vedremo altro.
