salve a tutti..la fusione del mio cervello è prossima :lol: ..visto ke ho linux per la prima volta da due giorni sto smanettando il piu possibile :shock: ...il problema ora è il seguente:
ho un impianto 5.1 della creative e se visualizzo video con vlc o .mp3 con XMMS l' audio esce fuori soltanto dalle due casse frontali..si potrebbe pensare ad un èrpblema ben piu serio..se non fosse ke alla musichetta di avvio del mio ubuntu funzionano tutte e 5 le casse e anke il sub...ah dimenticavo..anche con winzoz va tutto bene..illuminatemi :love:

in particolare a:
For XMMS, go to Preferences -> Audio I/O plugins. Under "Output plugin", select "ALSA 1.2 output plugin", click 'Configure', and in the 'Audio device' field, enter "ch51dup" (or "ch41dup" in case of 4.1 speakers). Devices you created in .asoundrc are not enumerated here, so you have to manually enter it. Similar configuration can be done for beep-media-player. All two-channel encoded songs (MP3, WMA, etc. songs) will now play on all five speakers.

For MPlayer, open ~/.mplayer/config, and put the following lines in it:

ao=alsa:device=ch51dup

channels=6



By default, MPlayer will now use the ch51dup device. However, if you want to play 5.1 channel encoded video with it (like DVDs), you'll have to use the default surround51 device, which you can by just invoking MPlayer as 'mplayer -ao alsa <filename-5.1-audio>. I don't know of a way to tell MPlayer to automatically choose a particular device based on the content being played. Xine would by default use the surround51 device for playing DVDs that are Dolby 5.1 encoded. So, you don't have to do anything there unless you play stereo files with it.
You may also want to change the mplayer plug-in configuration used for playing videos within browsers. As most of them have stereo audio, you may want to edit the audio output option line in /etc/mplayerplug-in.conf to make it use ch51dup.

Occhio che magari nn sono da seguire alla lettera, soprattutto i "nomi" dei dispostivi, di sicuro sono un ottimo punto di partenza

questa parte nn riesco a ca***** ...cmq dopo aver fatto la pirma parte e faccio partire un mp3 ..mi da l errore

your soundcard is configured properly
you have the corrected output plugin selected
no other program is blocking the soundcard



.e inoltre questo file .asoundrc dove lo trovo?
 
.asoundrc (occhio al punto iniziale) lo trovi nella tua home (accessibile indicando come directory ~ ), se non ce lo devi creare ;-)

hai seguito tutti i passi della guida che ti ho linkato? hai fatto modifiche o cose nn presenti li? piu' info dettagliate dai meglio si riesce a far andare il tutto.
 
allora..ho smanettato un po è alle fine il risultato è :
con XMMS è ok funzionano tutte e 5.
con VLC va soltanto la centrale la front e la rear di sinistra
 
penso questo succeda perchè VLC non è stato configurato a dovere, hai messo mano ai suoi menu di configurazione?

intanto che ci sei, se hai seguito la mini guida del mio primo post, potresti provare ad usare mplayer (o gmplayer se preferisci avere un'interfaccia grafica) ... magari ti troverai tanto comodo che poi non userai più vlc
