DOMANDA scheda video nuova, è quello che serve in questo caso?

salve a tutti, mi rivolgo a voi esperti certo che saprete aiutarmi,
il mio problema è questo: ho rispolverato un vecchio pc desktop installando win7 e solo i programmi base per un uso tipo ufficio (navigazione, office, pdf e poco altro). Funziona tutto bene almeno per le mie necessità, l'unica pecca è nella riproduzione dei video (sia file, che streaming youtube);i video in bassa qualità vengono riprodotti a scatti (quelli in qualità maggiore non vanno proprio). la mia domanda è: potrebbe essere utile/possibile provare a prendere una scheda video migliore dell'attuale e risolvere questo rallentamento rendendo quantomeno decente la riproduzione video? (non prendendo film in hd, basterebbe la risoluzione media di youtube, per vedere un video ogni tanto, quando capita)

ciao frizz, grazie per aver risposto; si, ho cercato di istallare i driver della scheda video ma non ho ottenuto risultati sperati, forse anche perchè cercare driver per "scheda grafica VGA standard" è un po' troppo generico, non saprei... forse tu sai indicarmi meglio quali driver dovrei cercare esattamente?
 
"Vga standard" non è la tua scheda video, è ciò che indica windows quando non si hanno driver installati..
Quindi devi prima vedere che scheda hai e poi cercare i driver
 
Potresti anche provare a comprare una scheda nvidia della serie GT e GTS. Oggi come oggi non arrivano a 150€ e sono anche ottime per giocare (Qualità Media nei videogiochi di oggi). Ti consiglio una Nvidia geforce GT630 da 2 GB. Questo mio consiglio è proprio se vuoi cambiare scheda ma non vuoi spendere tanti soldi. Come vedi il prezzo è "ridicolo" (in senso non dispregiativo) ma comunque abbastanza performante la scheda.
 
Essendo che va a 1.80 Ghz qualche giochino tipo la saga Portal andrebbero pure bene. Poi non lo so, fa lui.
 
grazie a tutti -solo per cronaca non sono un grande giocatore su pc e per quelli uso il portatile che è abbastanza più moderno li sopporta bene :D- per quanto riguarda il problema scheda video ho trovato che ho una "via/s3g unichrome pro igp" ma sembra che non ci siano driver win 7 per questo modello... ho provato a installare ubuntu ma poi sorge il problema scheda wireless non rilevata e senza connessione non ci faccio nulla. al momento sto facendo un ultimo tentativo provando a reinstallare una copia di XP, che poi era il sistema "nativo" di questo pc, speiamo bene

...il tentativo con la copia di xp è fallito miseramente, non trovo infatti i driver di scheda audio, scheda video (era una s3g unichrome pro igp), scheda wireless (broadcom-bcm4306-wireless-lan-adapter)... sto reinstallando win 7 (con il quale funzionava tutto tranne la riproduzione video) ma a questo punto la domanda torna la stessa: "una scheda video nuova può servire in questo caso?"- fatemi sapere!
 
Potresti provare a mettere su una radeon 5450 (la trovi a 20-30€) e vedere che succede :p

Edit: non avevo capito che la scheda supportava solo agp....scusa
